Court code

Your DMV court code

The DMV gives every California traffic court a five-digit court code, and your completion reaches your case by that code. Your citation and courtesy notice name the court, and the code is the court's.

Glenn County Superior Court hears traffic at its Main Courthouse in Willows, under DMV court code 11100. The court's locations page lists this one courthouse.

Before the final exam, Mirai Traffic School asks you to confirm your court and its code. For a Glenn County ticket, choose the Main Courthouse and 11100.

Your case

Find your case, then ask for traffic school

Finding your case

Your ticket is a Notice to Appear. Signing it admits nothing. It is your promise to appear at the date and time on its front or in the courtesy notice the court may mail to the address on the citation. That courtesy notice also says whether you can take traffic school, so read it in full.

The court's traffic page links its case search and its payment page, and paying needs your case or citation number. You can also look up your case in person at the courthouse at no charge, or call the clerk's office at (530) 934-6446.

How to ask for traffic school

Your courtesy notice says whether Glenn County Superior Court lets you take traffic school and how to ask, and the court's traffic page explains the rest. If your ticket has a correctable violation, the court must receive the correction and its fee before it lets you attend traffic school. Mail them or bring them to the clerk's office at 526 West Sycamore Street, Willows, CA 95988.

If you plan to plead not guilty and ask for a court trial, call the court at (530) 934-6446 before you pay anything, as the court asks.

What the court does with your ticket, and what Mirai Traffic School does for you.

From citation to certificate in Glenn County

What Glenn County Superior Court does with your ticket, step by step:

  1. 1

    You receive a citation

You sign the ticket, a Notice to Appear, and the court may mail a courtesy notice to the address on it. The notice says whether you can take traffic school.

  2. 2

    You check the court's rules

You qualify if you have not attended traffic school in the last 18 months and your ticket has no more than two moving violations with no mandatory appearance, or two moving violations plus a seat belt violation.

  3. 3

    You ask the court

Follow the traffic school option on your courtesy notice and pay what the court charges. Send any fix-it correction and its fee first, because the court waits for them before it lets you attend.

  4. 4

    You finish a licensed course

Choose a school from the DMV list the court links. You may attend in person or by computer. The court sets how long you have from the violation date, and its clerks grant no extensions. Mirai Traffic School is licensed by the DMV as E0756, costs $24.99, and saves your place whenever you stop.

  5. 5

    The court receives your completion

The court clerk reports to the DMV that you attended traffic school. The violation stays on your DMV record, but the DMV keeps it from your insurance company.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What drivers ask about Glenn County Superior Court.

The statewide rules

This court, not the school, grants traffic school under Vehicle Code section 42005, and you pick any DMV-licensed school. A completed course keeps one conviction in 18 months confidential under section 1808.7. Read the full statewide rules on our California traffic school rules page.

For an infraction with no mandatory appearance, you may post the bail and ask for a trial by written declaration. You and the officer each submit a written statement, and a judge or commissioner decides. Or ask for a court trial in person or by mail on the Written Not Guilty Plea form, and post the full bail if you ask by mail. The clerk's office mails either form on request.

There is no jury. You may offer evidence, argue the law, bring witnesses and cross-examine the officer who wrote the ticket. If you are found not guilty, the court refunds any bail you posted.

A correctable violation has the yes box checked in the Correctable Violation part of your ticket. After the repair, a law enforcement officer or an authorized inspection or installation station agent signs the Certificate of Correction on the back. A DMV office or a court clerk can also clear registration and license violations. Bring or mail the proof and the transaction fee by your appearance date.

Ask the court for an ability to pay determination, at sentencing or while the judgment is unpaid, on form TR-320. A judicial officer reviews it and may let you do community service, suspend part or all of the fine, set a hearing, or deny the request.

Ask the court in writing to reduce or vacate it, and choose a decision on your papers or a hearing before a judicial officer, who decides whether there is good cause. The petition is at the clerk's office, and filing it does not pause what you owe.

You may be charged with failure to appear, and the court may treat you as having chosen a trial by written declaration decided without you. Your license may be withheld, suspended or revoked, and the case can go to a collection agency. For a delinquent fine, contact the collection agency.

Paying the bail by your appearance date settles most tickets without court, but it is a conviction. Depending on the violation, a point may go on your DMV record, and your insurance may suffer.

No. Filing an appeal in a traffic case costs nothing, and the forms are at the clerk's office. An appeal reviews the original trial, with no new evidence or witnesses.

Interpreters and language help

Glenn County Superior Court provides interpreters at no cost for all court proceedings and court services. Submit the Request for Interpreter form, INT-300, at the clerk's office, or form MC-410 for a sign language interpreter. At the counter or on the phone, you may ask for a telephone interpreter on the spot. The court's language access complaint form comes in Spanish. Mirai Traffic School's course runs in English, Spanish, Japanese and Russian.
