Court code
Your DMV court code
The DMV gives every California traffic court a five-digit court code. A traffic school reports your completion under that code, and the court uses it to match the report to your case.
San Luis Obispo County Superior Court has one code for traffic, 40410. The CTSI list for the county prints it under the Grover Beach Branch, where the Traffic Processing Center works, and it covers a ticket called in Paso Robles as well. Informal juvenile traffic cases have no separate code on the DMV list.
Before the final exam, Mirai Traffic School asks you to confirm your court and its code. Your citation and courtesy bail notice name the branch, and for either branch the code is 40410.

Your case
Find your case, then ask for traffic school
Finding your case
The court mails a courtesy bail notice to the address on your citation once the citing agency's ticket reaches it. The notice lists the bail, the due date, whether the violation is eligible for traffic school, and how to clear a fix-it item. Your case number sits in the top right corner, under the print date, and the court accepts your citation number when you do not have the case number yet.
Court staff cannot quote bail or give case details until the citation is in the court's system. If the due date on your citation is near and no notice has come, the court puts the job of contacting the clerk's office on you. The court's traffic page is the place to start online, and it links the court's online case lookup. For anything else, call the Traffic Processing Center at (805) 706-3600 or write to slotraffic@slo.courts.ca.gov.
How to ask for traffic school
Your courtesy bail notice says whether the violation qualifies and lists the ways San Luis Obispo County Superior Court takes a request, and the court's traffic school page explains each one. The court wants the full traffic school fee, and any proof of correction, by the due date on the notice. It does not refund that fee.
A request by mail goes to the return address on your notice, the Traffic Processing Center at 214 S. 16th Street, Grover Beach, CA 93433. Write your case number, or your citation number, on what you send.

From citation to certificate in San Luis Obispo County
What San Luis Obispo County Superior Court does with your ticket, step by step:
- 1
You receive a citation
The citation shows the date and place to appear, and the courtesy bail notice repeats them with the bail and your traffic school eligibility. The court says a notice that never arrived is no legal excuse for missing the date.
- 2
You check the court's rules
The court asks for a valid Class C license and a Vehicle Code infraction the DMV records, with no traffic school in the 18 months before, counted from the previous violation date to the current one. It excludes violations worth more than one point, speeds more than 25 mph over the limit, alcohol or drug violations, violations in a commercial vehicle, and drivers with a class A, class B or commercial class C license.
- 3
You ask the court
Ask the way your courtesy bail notice describes, before its due date, and pay the whole traffic school fee the court sets. The court builds that fee from the highest bail among the eligible violations plus a state administrative fee.
- 4
You finish a licensed course
The court sets your completion date, and the courtesy bail notice prints it. Mirai Traffic School is licensed by the DMV as E0756 and costs $24.99, a charge separate from the court's fee.
- 5
The court receives your completion
The school submits your certificate to the court electronically, and the court may not confirm that it arrived. To check, call the Traffic Processing Center or email the court. If proof is late, the court converts the fee to bail, and that forfeiture is a conviction reported to the DMV.
