Yuba County Traffic School

Yuba County had 88,691 residents in the Census estimate for July 1, 2025, up from 81,573 in 2020. State Route 70 runs south from Marysville through Linda, Olivehurst and Plumas Lake, State Route 65 heads toward Wheatland and Beale, and State Route 49 crosses the foothills. In 2023 the California Office of Traffic Safety counted 598 people killed or injured in county crashes, 8th of 58 counties in a ranking where 1st is the worst. Two figures rank 2nd in the state, pedestrians and drivers under 21 who had been drinking.

Adult tickets go to the Traffic Division at the Yuba County Superior Court, 215 5th Street in Marysville, where all of the court's operations now sit. The CHP's Yuba-Sutter Area serves the whole county and its Grass Valley Area also patrols the northeastern corner, so a CHP ticket and a Marysville or Wheatland police ticket reach the same court. A ticket written in Yuba City belongs to the Sutter County court, across the river, not this one. The Juvenile Hearing Officer at the courthouse hears juvenile traffic tickets, and the court sends no courtesy notice, because the appearance date is on the citation.

For an adult ticket, the court mails a courtesy notice to the address on the citation with your options. Give the court time before you call, because the agency that wrote the ticket must deliver it first and the clerks cannot quote your bail until it is in the court's system. You still have to clear the citation if no notice arrives.
