Court code
Your DMV court code
Every California traffic court has a five-digit DMV court code. It matches your completion to your case at the right court. The officer writes the court location at the top of your citation, and the code belongs to that courthouse.
Yolo County Superior Court has one courthouse and one traffic code, 57420, for the Traffic Division at 1000 Main Street in Woodland. Juvenile traffic goes to the same Traffic Division and has no code of its own on the DMV list, so a Yolo ticket leaves one code to choose.
Before the final exam, Mirai Traffic School asks you to confirm your court and its code. For a Yolo County ticket, choose the Yolo Superior Court and 57420.

Pin 1 on the map, at 1000 Main Street in Woodland. Juvenile traffic goes to the same Traffic Division at (530) 406-6702. Every juvenile appears in court with a parent or legal guardian, and a driver who has turned 18 may appear alone. A missed juvenile court date can suspend the license, or lead the DMV to refuse to issue one.
Your case
Find your case, then ask for traffic school
Finding your case
At the top of your citation, the officer writes the date and time the citation is due and the court location. Signing the citation is a promise to take care of it, not an admission of guilt. You may then receive a courtesy notice in the mail that states the bail and the date to pay or appear by.
The date on the citation holds even if no notice comes. The court's traffic page links its online court calendar, and the Traffic Division at (530) 406-6702 can answer what your papers do not. If you fail to respond, the court may charge a failure to appear, add a civil assessment and place a hold on your license with the DMV.
How to ask for traffic school
Your courtesy notice shows the bail, and the court's traffic page explains how to ask for traffic school. You can ask at the clerk's office at 1000 Main Street or by mail to Traffic Violator School, Yolo Superior Court, 1000 Main Street, Woodland, CA 95695. Either way, pay the full amount on the courtesy notice plus the court administrative fee to receive the list of schools. The court does not split a traffic school request into smaller payments.
You can also ask the judicial officer for traffic school at your arraignment. The court warns that you need its permission, and the administration fee paid, before you attend, and it rejects a completion from a driver who skipped that step.

From citation to certificate in Yolo County
What Yolo County Superior Court does with your ticket, step by step:
- 1
You receive a citation
The date and court location at the top of your citation tell you when and where to respond. Most violations do not need a court appearance.
- 2
You check the court's rules
Yolo asks that you have not attended traffic school in the past 18 months, that the citation is not alcohol related, that you hold a valid license with no outstanding failure to appear or pay, that you were not driving 26 mph or more over the limit, and that it was a moving violation in a vehicle that is not commercial. Seatbelt, registration and insurance tickets are not moving violations.
- 3
You ask the court
Ask at the clerk's office, by mail or at your arraignment, and pay the full amount the court sets. You need the court's permission before you start a course.
- 4
You finish a licensed course
The court sets how long you have to finish, and the clerk or the judicial officer gives you the date. Mirai Traffic School is licensed by the DMV as E0756, costs $24.99, and saves your place whenever you stop.
- 5
The court receives your completion
After you pass, your completion goes to the court under code 57420. The court accepts it only when you had its permission and paid the administration fee first. If you miss a payment the court set at arraignment, you lose traffic school and the offense shows as a conviction on your driving record.
