Court code

Your DMV court code

Every California traffic court has a five-digit DMV court code. It matches your completion to your case at the right court. Your citation names the court and its address, and in Stanislaus County that is always the Traffic Court building on Floyd Avenue.

Stanislaus County Superior Court hears adult and juvenile traffic cases at 2260 Floyd Avenue in Modesto and calls 50450 its special reporting code. The school needs four things from you: your case number, your citation number, your driver's license number and code 50450. The court adds that your case number or citation number goes in the reference number the school reports to the DMV.

Before the final exam, Mirai Traffic School asks you to confirm your court and its code. For a Stanislaus County ticket, that is Traffic Court on Floyd Avenue and 50450.

Your case

Find your case, then ask for traffic school

Finding your case

Your citation, the Notice to Appear, carries the name and address of the court, your deadline and what you must do to respond. The court mails a Traffic Court Reminder Notice to the address on the citation as soon as the agency files it, with your fine, whether your case is eligible for traffic school and whether you must appear.

An agency has up to one year to file a citation, so your case may not show up at first. If your date is near and you cannot find your case, call the Traffic Court Clerk's Office to ask whether it has been filed, and tell the court and the agency if your address changes. The court's traffic school page links its case search, which finds a case by citation number, case number or name.

The court's traffic page

How to ask for traffic school

Your reminder notice says whether your case is eligible for traffic school, and the court's Sign Up for Traffic School page explains how to ask. Only case numbers that begin with TR- can sign up online. Any other case asks in person at the Traffic Court Clerk's Office or by mail to 2260 Floyd Avenue, Modesto, CA 95355, with a written request and the payment.

Ask before your court date and pay the full bail together with the court's traffic school fee. A request by mail also needs a self-addressed stamped envelope. Once the court has the payment, it moves your due date to give you time to finish.

What the court does with your ticket, and what Mirai Traffic School does for you.

From citation to certificate in Stanislaus County

What Stanislaus County Superior Court does with your ticket, step by step:

  1. 1

    You receive a citation

The citation names the court and your deadline. The court mails a reminder notice once the agency files the citation, but you signed a promise to appear, so the deadline holds even if no notice comes.

  2. 2

    You check the court's rules

You may attend for certain moving violations if you are not in traffic school now, have not attended for a citation issued in the last 18 months, counted violation date to violation date, and hold a California license. A commercial license holder driving a commercial vehicle cannot attend, and an out-of-state license does not qualify.

  3. 3

    You ask the court

Before your court date, ask the court the way your case allows and pay the full bail and the court's traffic school fee. A case with a trial on calendar cannot sign up until the trial is over.

  4. 4

    You finish a licensed course

The court sets how long you have to sign up and finish, and its traffic school page explains how it counts the time. Mirai Traffic School is licensed by the DMV as E0756 and costs $24.99.

  5. 5

    The court receives your completion

The school reports your completion to the DMV, and the court pulls the completed cases from the DMV's records and updates them. Once the course shows as complete and the bail and fee are paid in full, the court reports the case to the DMV as a confidential conviction.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What drivers ask about Stanislaus County Superior Court.

The statewide rules

This court, not the school, grants traffic school under Vehicle Code section 42005, and you pick any DMV-licensed school. A completed course keeps one conviction in 18 months confidential under section 1808.7. Read the full statewide rules on our California traffic school rules page.

Schedule a traffic arraignment ahead, online or at the clerk's office, before your appear-by date. Arrive early for check-in, and watch the court's arraignment video or read its script, in English or Spanish, before the hearing.

Yes. The court keeps separate failure to appear sessions for cases with a DMV hold on the driver's license.

Not until the trial has taken place and the court has issued an order. If you are then ordered to pay a fine and want traffic school, you must file a Law and Motion request.

Yes, unless the citation came from an accident or a traffic camera. File form TR-205 with a signed Written Plea of Not Guilty and the full bail. If you win, the court returns the bail to whoever paid it.

If you were driving a non-commercial vehicle and meet the other rules, you may attend. The court says the DMV asks such drivers to call its Mandatory Action Unit at (916) 657-6525 to have the point masked.

Ask the court to consider your ability to pay. It may let you complete a Community Service Program instead of paying the fine, and if your case is not in failure to appear or failure to pay status, you can ask for less on the Request for Reduction of Fine form.

The judge usually quotes only the bail amount. State law adds mandatory fees under the Uniform Bail and Penalty Schedule, and your minute order shows the total due.

Interpreters and language help

Stanislaus County Superior Court offers interpreters for all case types, traffic included. Ask on the Request for Interpreter form INT-300, from the court's website or any clerk's office, and return it signed to the clerk's office by the deadline on the court's interpreter page. The traffic arraignment video and script also come in Spanish. Mirai Traffic School's course runs in English, Spanish, Japanese and Russian.
